Our Story
Our story began in 1971 when Rainbows started crafting premium quality drapes for Sears and other major retailers. As the demand for independent consultants and decorators grew in the 1980s, our client base expanded, and our commitment to innovation and custom design flourished.
In the mid-1990s, Cheryl Meiklejohn, a dedicated client turned administrator, joined our team and quickly became an integral part of Rainbows. Within a few years, Cheryl became a partner and eventually assumed sole ownership by the late 1990s. In the early 2000s, Cheryl’s daughters, Kim and Penny, joined the company, taking on various roles in both the workroom and office, solidifying their commitment to Rainbows’ legacy.
As Rainbows celebrates over 50 years in business, reaching this milestone in 2022, we are thrilled to announce a new chapter. In January 2024, Kim Neeser and co-owner Ashaley Kydd purchased the business as Cheryl retired, marking a transition while preserving our dedication to exceptional service and custom craftsmanship.
Throughout the decades, Rainbows has evolved from a sewing room into a full-fledged design studio, offering comprehensive services including design consultations, check measures, and installation management. We remain committed to being your one-stop shop for all your custom window treatment needs. Looking ahead, our vision is clear: Rainbows is here to stay.
